Expert summary
Henri Chapron was a renowned French automobile coachbuilder. His studio was in the suburb of Paris. At the beginning of his career he developed custom body designs for French luxury vehicles. When such vehicles ceased to come, he started to use his skill on the Citroen DS. He went on effecting conversions on newer vehicles as they came out. In 1968, Chapron made a special DS Presidential model for the government of Charles de Gaulle. Again, in 1972, he finished two SM Presidential models for the government of Georges Pompidou. When Queen Elizabeth II visited France, those gigantic convertibles were first used. They were again used for the inauguration of Jacques Chirac in 1995.Recommended content
